Re: Andover Norton open day

I was toying with the idea of a run down, but at 220 miles/ 4 hours each way (Drax) it's a fair run - not to mention the cost of fuel !!

Re: Commander rotary engine

They are fairly easy to take apart; a couple of special tools need, I could lend you.

The realy tricky bit is getting them back together so that they work, best left to the experts !!

Hi James, these folk look like they could help, and as the bike is over 25 years old, it looks like it might not need to meet all the later regulations ??

TRL Commander, H831 GRX ??

Does anyone now of the whereabouts of my old Commander. I sold it many years ago to a really nice Gent, Mike i think, from North Wales. He had a few more rotaries, including an F1 I think. The TRL has not been on the road for over 10 years. If it is stuck in a shed I would love it back

Re: FREE on collection

Cheers Richard, that endplate might come in handy. IP11, 3366, EX Cypress RAF, is at Andover Norton with a noisy engine. RP suspects a shot bearing but we will see. If I use it I will make a suitable donation to the Air Ambulance; otherwise I will hang on to it until someone else may need it. Best R...

Good Evening Richard, I will give you a ring on Saturday to arrange if that is OK, I am 90 minutes away from you. You and Pete overhauled my TRL Commander at Rugeley many moons ago, happy days indeed ! What other "stuff" are you disposing of, anything to interest an IP 11 owner ?? Best Reg...

What a Din, engine sounds dreadful

Hi Guys, my wife has to cover her ears as I pull out of the drive; such is the noise from the IP11 engine. She starts instantly, pulls like a train, all is great apart from the noise ( the bike of course - not the wife !). I can feel nasty rumbles coming from both Air Transfer Ports and the screwdri...

Re: She eats sparkplugs !!

Many thanks for your reply Anthony. I will check all around for air leaks, again !! I will also recheck the oil pump "C" setting before the the engine gets hot - the throttle angle when cold will be a better datum I guess.

She eats sparkplugs !!

Well, after much gnashing and heartache the IP11 is now back on top form once again. She had been coughing and spluttering, going down onto one rotor, most unhappy. I had convinced myself the carbs were to blame; I cleaned the dashpots several times, twiddled with the idle screw. I had even obtained...

Re: IP 11 Grab Rail

Grab rail now fitted after some minor butchery, the bracket fits perfectly "inside" the frame, all good in that department. The carbs however are a different story. Out for a blast a few nights ago; came out of the Offy to find a pool of petrol under the bike and it would not start. On ins...

Hi JB, I dare'nt sell the Bemmer, I've only just bought it and they do ride so nicley. It's more about technique when handling these beasts, which I have now got used to. An Ice Hockey Puck bolted to the over-short sidestand helps a huge amount too !

Hi JB, no rallies for me this year I'm afraid. I am not totally happy with the way the bike is running, carb issue I think. My back is also recovering from wrestling with a BMW R1100GS I have just bought, fantastic bikes but jeez are they heavy !!
